What is Kihei, Maui, known for?

Kihei is located in South Maui and is about 20-30 minutes drive to Maui's International Airport (OGG). Some of the highlights are The Cove, South Maui's premiere surf spot (a slow, fun wave for beginners and intermediate surfers); Kalama Park, a large green-grass park with several ammenities including beach access, roller skating and roller hockey, a skate park, several shade trees, pavilions and BBQs, a baseball field, several soccer fields, and a bike/running path along the ocean; several beaches like Charly Young, Kamaole Beach 1, 2, & 3, and more; great restaurants and bars; and grocery stores and shops.

Do you need a car in Kihei?

You don't need a car in Kihei, unless you want to travel to other parts of the island, which I highly recommend. But I've had several guests stay at our condo who didn't rent a car. They could walk to the beaches, shops, restaurants, and bars. Our condo's not far from other Kihei condos like Kihei Akahi, Kihei Kai, or Kamaole Sands, which are great options, too. But we're closer to the heart of Kihei and more walkable because of it. Also, we are set back from the street and significantly quieter than those along the main thoroughfare, South Kihei Road.

New Remodel, Air Conditioning throughout, Steps from Pool & Beach!

Our condo was completely remodeled in 2021 by yours truly. I upgraded the unit with split A.C. so that each bedroom has it's own independent control, as does the living space. And because of solar panels, you can keep the condo cool as you like. There's also a swimming pool and a dedicated, free parking space. And again, you can walk to Charly Young Beach or The Cove in 5 minutes.
